Well argued, and convincing. IF, things were going to "stay the same" for the foreseeable future, you could be right. Here's a thought, they aren't.
We are in a state of asymmetric information with Xi and Putin because they understand the Climate System better than we do. Our Climate Models are crippled because, back in the late 80's, Reagan and Bush backed the Moderate faction in the field of Climate Science.
The Moderates argued that we could burn lots more oil and gas. Because the climate system would be heavily self correcting and warming would be gradual. Since this was what everyone wanted to hear, we went with that.
In 2000, Republican America voted for the "Oil and Gas Guy". Their slogan, "Let the Future take Care of the Future".
Well, the future is HERE, NOW.

I am predicting that the next few years are going to be disastrously HOT. That doesn’t make me a “Doomer”.
It makes me realistic about what’s happening with the Climate System.
What you don't understand is that things have changed. The climate is RAPIDLY going to shit and hundreds of millions are about to starve. They are not going to go easy and much of their rage is going to be directed at the US.
In 12-18 months, a "Global Climate Emergency" is going to be declared and a coalition led by China is going to sanction the US. Much of the world is going to back their play.
We are in the ENDGAME. You are not seeing it. This article is you whistling past the graveyard.
