Yep, exactly right. Our "solutions" always lead to more problems. I agree with you. However, I spent time arguing with a very clever mind I respect who argued the counterpoint.

His position is that ALL human solutions are flawed. They always have been and always will be. He argued that while sustainability is a desirable goal, it is also an illusion. Because things change over time, and nothing lasts forever.

It's a seductive argument because it is linked to the idea of PROGRESS and maximizing our capabilities as a species. It won over everyone in our debate because it made me look like I wanted everyone to live in a cave.

I am still struggling with a REALLY good response.

It also reminded me not to see those who disagree with me as "evil". There are legitimate arguments to be made for their point of view.

I went and argued with the “Wizards”. They kicked my ass and made me feel like a Luddite. I am not “friends” with some of them anymore and they think I have become a “crazy person”. My ego is still hurting.
