Wow, really beautiful writing. I was enthralled by your description of the Algarve.

If in the north the green mountains reigned supreme, just below Lisbon, the mountains gradually disappeared to give way to vast plains, wearing rye or simply showing the brown earth, like it had skin and were showing the red of its flesh.

That’s what the land was like there, with a few umbrella pines here and there where underneath them, whole herds of cattle tried to gather under their shadows. It was a sight that was as beautiful as it was terrifying.

It reminds me of Gabriel García Márquez. I bow in respect.

On a deadly serious segue. Get out of Portugal NOW.

Whatever it takes, move further north. Scotland would be good if you can manage it. The drought is only going to get worse.

You can only live three days without water.

Without water for cooling, heatwaves turn into mass casualty events.

You don't have any concept yet of how hot it's about too get. Your past experience hasn't given you any way to understand what/s about to happen.

Our planet hasn't been this HOT in over 3 MILLION YEARS.

The past 8 years our world has been at over 1C of warming. We have entered a "new energy state" because, unless we do some HEAVY geoengineering or 30% of the population dies by 2030, that's permanent.

We are now warming at the rate of 0.36C PER DECADE. That's TWICE AS FAST as it was in 2010.

Remember how bad the weather was this last decade? Now multiply that by a factor of about four. Because doubling the warming rate makes things four times worse.

That's what's happening right now. Before your eyes. It/s going to get worse.

Right now, no one sees yet how bad it's going to be over the next few years. Right now you can still move around and get new jobs further north. In a few years, with millions of EU Citizens as internal "Climate Refugees", you will be lucky to be in a resettlement camp.

At least you will have water.

I'm not trying to be mean, or nasty, or entitled, or privileged, or clueless. I know the magnitude of what I am advising. The sacrifice and loss of place, leaving your homeland will entail.

I understand, exile.

I am advising this as a friend. I have been right on everything. Everything I predicted last year has come to pass. Here's a synthesis of my work last year.

The Crisis Report — 18

I am predicting that the next few years are going to be disastrously HOT. That doesn’t make me a “Doomer”.

Everything I have predicted about he Climate System and the Climate Crisis has been correct. As an admirer of your writing and your soul I urge you to FLEE.

While you still can.
