Well, you tell a good story and all three are well crafted. But, number three is the lie.
It lacks the right kind of details for a true personal memory. You mask that by adding detail to try and give it verisimilitude. It still reads "off".
The details feel "forced" and don't ring true. It's the lie. That's why they always tell you the best lie is a simple one.
I love story number one. You have "the Shine" Mitch. I wouldn't stay in the Overlook with you. We would probably meet the creepy twins.
Story number two is so sweet. You adore your wife and it shows.
This could be a fun ice breaker game at a party if you kept it light. It could also be a fun ice breaker at an orgy with the right answers. 😉
