Water generates enormous profits. Just ask the farming corporations in the North end of the California Central Valley. Who, through a legal quirk going back to the 1920's, now control all of the water from the federal water projects.

They are using their right of "first allocation" to take all of the water available. The southern half of the valley is dying.

When they go broke, the Northern farming corporations will buy up their land at fire sale prices. Then they will send water to it and start farming it again.

Water generates billions of dollars in profits.

BTW this is your taxes at work. The water they are using as a weapon is subsidized and supplied to them at pennies on the dollar of it's market value.

We did this back in the 20/30's so that farmers would have cheap water in order to be able to grow food.
