I suppose it depends on how you view government. How it really works and what it really does.

Here's a thought puzzle about perception.

Consider what you know about Julius Caesar.

Add in this knowledge.

He was the last male survivor of his family line. During his life, every one of his male relatives was assassinated.

They were "Reformers" who were trying to reign in the power of the Elites. Who were looting the economy in the years after the Sulla dictatorship.

Every one of his male relatives was assassinated by Senatorial Class Elites.

Now, how does this knowledge change your perception of Caesar's, "Crossing the Rubicon" and starting a Civil War?

Do, you see Caesars actions in a different way?

Does it illuminate how government is always a struggle between Elite factions to harness the power of government to their ends.

Always.

To think anything else is to be naive.
