This is a excellent article on why economists are some of the most dangerous people on the planet. A "bad" political leader like Stalin can kill 20 million people.

A "bad" economist can kill hundreds of millions with their heartless stupidity and inhumanity.

There is a saying that "economists know the price of everything and the value of nothing". Personally I have found this to be true.

For example, an economist will tell you that the "best use" of your daughters "youth and sex appeal" is for her to skip college and work as a prostitute in Nevada for 4-5 years. She can maximize the value of her assets and earn several hundred thousand dollars a year.

Money which can be invested while she is young. Giving her time to achieve the maximum rates of return as her investments grow.

Not wanting your daughter to be a prostitute, not wanting to sell your land to a developer, not wanting to do anything in life but make money is "inefficient". "Sentiment has no cash value" as Andre Trochard in "We're no Angels frequently states.

That being said, Nordhaus is evil.

He is repping for the Fossil Fuel Elites and spinning a bullshit lie that promises tremendous benefits for everyone at the cost of "manageable warming".

Here's a quick question. "We are now at an observable 1.2C of warming since 1850, when was the last time the Earth was this hot"?

If you don't know, here's a clue. Australopithecus Afarensis was the top hominid in the "homo" family at that time.

We have warmed the planet up to a level last seen over 3 million years ago.

We have dumped the equivalent of 33 Hiroshima bombs worth of energy into EVERY SQUARE MILE OF OCEAN ON EARTH.

That's 1 degree of warming.

The difference between a mile of ice and the NYC of today is one of 6C.

Does anyone but the most delusional of minds imagine that 3C of warming is going to be less than catastrophic?
