The last part of this series of articles will discuss possible futures based on current policy choices. I don't have much faith we will choose the Optimal Future path.

As you say, it involves a REAL redistribution of wealth, power, and influence.

That leaves a Sub-Optimal Path, which I think is the most likely and comes in a lot of flavors.

Finally, there is the Total Collapse Path, which is not the most likely at this point, but the "risk of" has become uncomfortably high.

Everything depends on how people react to the understanding of how bad the situation has become. When everyone really internalize that "life as they knew it" is over.
