The Crisis Report — 41

When it comes to Climate Change, what you SEE depends on what you know.

It’s looking like SST’s in 2024 are NOT going to “drop back” below 2023 levels. Like in a “normal” La Nina. That means that our new Global Mean Temperature (GMT) is now around +1.7°C. Between December 2022 and NOW, the GMT baseline just JUMPED by about +0.5°C.

What does this chart mean to you?

When you look at it, what do you see?

Do you see “DOOM” and “Collapse”, or do you just see the global oceans warming up more rapidly than before?

Something to be concerned about if it continues for a few more years. But, probably just the sort of natural variation we can expect in a “charged up” climate system.

According to the “best” General Climate Models this level of warming isn’t sustainable at this level of atmospheric CO2. So, the consensus among mainstream Climate Scientists is that this “spike” in warming cannot last.

“On its own, one exceptional year would not be enough to suggest something was faulty with the computer models. Your default position has to be, ‘The models are right.’”

— Dr. Dessler in an NYT interview in Dec. 2023 about the “unprecedented” warming in 2023.

This is the temperature of the water in the global oceans. FYI, 30°C is 86°F. The waters in the Tropics are in the 80’s and 90’s. You can see HEAT moving from East to West carried by the currents and then “pooling” when it hits an obstacle. The Indian Ocean and SE Asia are particularly susceptible to warming.
