BECAUSE COVID KILLS THE ELDERLY

It’s a signal that Xi expects things are about to rapidly get worse.

Population distribution by five-year age group in China 2020

In 2021 China’s population was about 1.41 Billion. That number should humble Americans and give us pause.

America’s population is currently around 330 million. There are about 4.25 Chinese for each American. Yet, in just one generation since Nixon went to China in 1972, China has built an economy that is on the brink of becoming the largest in the world.

Just the “Working Age” (20–60) of the Chinese population is double the ENTIRE American population.

For all our talk about how “democracy” lifts people out of poverty. China has lifted far more people out of poverty than the US has. Even if you count all of Europe (The Marshall Plan), Japan (post war rebuilding), and Korea (post war rebuilding). China still comes out ahead.

The Chinese “Great Leap Forward” is a MASSIVE achievement.

My entire life can be described in one sentence: Things didn’t go as planned, and I’m OK with that.
