"Stupid" was a poor word choice. "Inexperienced" would be more precise. Young workers are inexperienced and companies ruthlessly exploit that.

We are, "playing the same movie over and over" culturally because we never change the script. We refuse to make big changes because we are terrified of losing what we have.

I know things are worse for your generation. I watched it happen. I predicted it would happen. I worked in campaigns, volunteered my time, and donated to causes.

Now I live with the sadness of knowing it wasn't enough.

But that's a "big picture" issue. With Parenthood I simply meant that the struggle to balance family\career is an old one.

While it didn't affect me personally. I thought the movie did speak to some universal human experiences. Plus I love the line from Keanu about how you have to get a license to own a dog but any butt raping asshole can be a father.

So, perhaps my perception of the movie is biased. We all tend to remember things selectively.

I know you are time crunched. Thank you for reading my comment.
