Ignore this if you don’t like poetry.

In the heart of my memory palace is a courtyard. There I tend the garden of my soul. At the center, there is a TREE.

Nostalgia.

I was sitting in my memory garden,
under the TREE.

As I read your words,
a constellation of lights.

FLARED in the tree,
among the branches.

The light was so bright,
my eyes were overwhelmed.

I lost myself for a moment,
in the NOVALIGHT flare of past times.

addendum.

Reading something Lannie Rose wrote (Suicide Should Be Painless) I was literally overcome for a few moments by a torrent of memories. As I watered my tomato plants I thought about memories and the power of nostalgia. I wanted to be able to describe to her the effect reading her words had on me.

This is what flashed into my head. It’s good enough for a Sunday morning random thought. Apologies to Lannie for the off topic, slightly inappropriate comment.

My entire life can be described in one sentence: Things didn’t go as planned, and I’m OK with that.
