Please be very careful about the heat. I lived/worked most of my adult life in hot tropical places. Heatstroke kills, much faster than people understand.

My intellectual "great love" is archeology. I wanted to write travel guides about touring sites as an Archeotourist.

Seeing Coba- A Maya city of the Yucatan.

I always put in this warning:

IF YOU ARE NOT ACCLIMATED, WALKING AROUND CAN KILL YOU.

People die from heatstroke in the tropics, and it can happen fast. Please be careful, stay in shade, hydrate frequently, wear a hat, soak your hair with water, and double your salt intake. If you are feeling seriously weak, faint, and nauseous IMMERSE yourself in water to rapidly bring down your core temp.

Take siestas, be indoors during the heat of the day. Sleep in hammocks to improve airflow over your whole body. Use fans indoors to maximize airflow and wet yourself down so that evaporative cooling can happen.

Be very careful. Heat kills.

My entire life can be described in one sentence: Things didn’t go as planned, and I’m OK with that.
