"One contention there is that the national debt IS the money supply, the currency that we and the rest of the world use to conduct business. I'm not totally convinced but find it interesting that our stated money supply and our national debt have been nearly identical for decades...food for thought;)"

That's a very cool way of thinking about and visualizing the economy of the "Pax Americana". I will be considering that for weeks.
