Here's one of those weird things that people don't think about enough. How can the US keep buying things from everyone in the world when we have a massive trade deficit?

Where do we get our money?

The US is 4.1% of the global population but controls about 32% of the global wealth flow.

How is this possible?

Control of the global currency and control of the global marketplace is how. That's the true source of our wealth and power.

It's our Superpower tax on the world.

In exchange for that, we are supposed to created a stable and secure environment for everyone else to operate in. For example, we are supposed to suppress piracy so that the sea lanes stay open and secure.

In exchange for accepting the "Pax Americana" the rest of the world expects stability and security. If we cannot deliver, why are they paying us?

It's extremely revealing that the new German Chancellor just went to China last weekend to humbly ask Xi to get Putin to make peace. Germany just went begging to China for peace

I wonder what the price for Xi's peace is?
