Covid and Climate Change have a lot of Analogs

When it comes to Surviving them, they have one big thing in Common

Bomb Time — The hyper accelerated rate of warming and climate change that will compress 1,000 years of normal inter-glacial warming into the next 20 years of human time as the thermal pulse from our “climate bomb” hits the planet.

So, this is my last Climate Change post of the year and what a horrible year it has been. Covid-19 upended everything and although relief is in sight, we are about to have a great wave of dying that’s going to sweep away hundreds of thousands of us here in the US.

I was watching an interview with Dr. Fauci and he was blunt that we can probably expect around 3,000 deaths a day right in time for Christmas because the “lag” between new cases and deaths is about 3 weeks. No matter what we do now, those deaths are going to happen. They are “baked in” and all we can do is try to prevent the numbers from escalating to even higher levels and bring the curve down to something manageable.

With Climate Change it’s the carbon, methane, and nitrous oxide numbers that, like the number of Covid cases, just keep going up. Just like Covid, the deniers and economic interests are fighting every action we need to take to prevent those numbers from climbing and insisting…
