Temperature anomalies in the chart are in reference to the 1979–2000 average for each specific day of the year. For reference three time series are provided, these are the “dotted lines”. The bottom line is the times series for the 1979–2000 average. The middle line is the more commonly used 30-year 1981–2010 average. The top line is the 1991–2020 average. Can you SEE, just how much “hotter” 2023 and 2024 are, and what a BIG jump we have made?
