Lastly, because I still cannot sleep. :-(
I am in the NOVA area just south of DC. Because of health issues I really cannot see moving for the next few years. However, I am OK with it.
While DC itself is low laying, I live on a high ridge. I won't get flooded. I am also a renter so insurance is not a problem. Best of all, DC is the national capital.
The power will work here and there will be money to fix bridges and roads that fail. Plus, every national airline in the world comes here. If I have to make a quick departure, there are flights to everywhere.
I feel good about DC for the next five years. Long term I would head for Pittsburgh or Upstate New York. I just don't like the vibe in the Midwest. People forget that there were more Clan lynchings in Iowa than in Mississippi. Midwest racism is oppressive.
Anyway, that's my two cents. Which is worth nothing these days. ;-).
