Kudos for a really smart precis of the the Climate Crisis state of play. Most people don't get how interrelated and synergistic our problems have become.

What's about to happen over the next 5-6 years is "baked in" at this point. We are going to get a savage heat spike.

Our only hope is to declare a global "Climate Emergency". It has to have teeth. It has to be made clear that scofflaws will face regime change.

Then we have to focus everything we have on a crash program of decarbonizing the global economy, managing the climate crisis, immediately shutting down all natural gas usage, and starting a massive global CO2 sequestration infrastructure build out. Because it all has to be happening by 2035 at the latest.

Or, instead of managed retreat, we will get uncontrolled collapse.

Ukraine is what uncontrolled collapse looks like.
