It's an INSANELY DANGEROUS thing to try. With a high risk of massive unforeseen consequences and side effects.

The maximum probability is that we are going to do it anyway. It is becoming inevitable.

The lead time is low. The technology is extant. It's physically doable. Most importantly, we know it works.

When temperatures start spiking upwards and there is mass realization of how severe the crisis has become. Elites will have to respond, they will have to "do something".

Politically they will have no choice but to try this. It's the ONLY thing possible.

Historians often talk about the "tide of events" forcing things towards an inevitable outcome. I don't think that's completely true but there is truth in it.

As you move up a decision tree from the trunk. Each choice diminishes the number of possible outcomes and narrows the "outcome cone" of probable results.

Make poor choices and it becomes inevitable that you will find yourself out on a limb.

My entire life can be described in one sentence: Things didn’t go as planned, and I’m OK with that.
