Insightful and nuanced, a "high brow" take on the MCU. I loved it.

Totally agree that it was a form of anti-deep-environmentalism. Have you read "The Wizard and the Prophet"?

In that light the MCU through Infinity Wars was a continuation of a discussion between two modes of thought going back to the 20's. The "Wizard" represented by Stark and the "Prophet" by Thantos.

One of the consequences of the Green Revolution of the 20th was that the Wizards claimed Victory. They had "conquered hunger".

They preach that they can always outwit death because "human creativity is an infinite resource". The Prophet reminds that they only have to fail once for everything to collapse.
