I'm not sure you understand the nuance of events. How we got here is what created the crisis.

The thing to remember is that no on wants a CRISIS.

Crisis Periods are wildly unpredictable and deadly dangerous. This won't be the first time in the historical period when there was 50% depopulation in a single century.

That's happened before and some societies have "carried on". Others have collapsed under the stress. Fifty percent loss is a big breakpoint where things get unpredictable. Little things can cause collapse to cascade at that point because the social system is so fragile.

NO ONE PLANS TO HAVE A CRISIS.

When you look back on what the Fossil Fuel Elites were thinking in the 80's/90's/00's. They really seem to have thought that warming by 2100 would be only about 1.8C.

They are still clinging to that idea.

If that had been true. There wouldn't be a CRISIS right now. The Climate wouldn't get much worse than it is now and the transition off fossil fuels could take another 60 years.

60 more years of economic growth. Most people would say, HELL YEAH!

That's the reason White America is clinging so hard to their denial. They bet on the Oil and Gas Presidents being right. They will die before they admit that the "Liberals and Scientists" were right.
