I totally agree with what you are saying. The imbalance between population and resources will right itself. The idea of the Wizards that technology will save us because it always has is specious.
In our entire history not one of our societies has been able to innovate survival against climate change.
In the 13th century in England the weather abruptly went bad. The long Summer of 400 years of good weather ended and the Little Ice Age started. Over the next 100 years the population of England declined by 50%.
That's what I expected would happen this century. What's about to happen is 800m to 1.5 billion over the next 5-6 years.
Here's my analysis.
