I think it's brilliant satire. You have a gift for that form. And the twist at the end is superb.

Up to the last paragraph you could be talking to a crowd of deniers. It almost reads like a rant at that crowd. Then, wham!

Your list of "Climate Optimist" talking points is great. They are becoming weird deniers in their own way. They want Climate Change to be beaten by "techno wizardry" so that they can keep having the "late 20th century lifestyle".

Climate Change is real, but We can fix it.

Seems to be their mindset. They want a technological revolution without a social one.

Like you say, if you are talking about solutions that don't involve the immediate shut down of fossil fuel usage and social reorganization towards a sustainable global culture, then you might as well be talking about magic or miracles.
