I suppose Covid proves the "boiling frog" thesis of social reaction.

Remember how Trumpublicans just freaked out and lost their shit when there was that Ebola outbreak during Obama's term. They wanted anyone who had been close to an Ebola patient to be locked in isolation.

Ebola is fucking scary to people. They greatly over react to outbreaks because they can imagine the horrific consequences of getting infected.

Covid Sars2 just isn't deadly enough.

I predicted this 2 years ago. I wrote,

"Although it’s horrible to say it, C-19 just isn’t deadly enough to convince the doubters that it’s real. Roughly 80% of C-19 infections are going to be asymptomatic or very mild.

The distribution of the 20% who get seriously ill is going to be random and uneven. Lots of people are not going to touched by C-19 at all and that is going to shape their perception of the pandemic.

Because of the randomness of infection severity, and the fact that the majority of cases will not result in serious illness, we know that many families, neighborhoods, and even towns may appear to be spared by C-19. Even though everyone got sick.

Get ready for years of White Republican denial that the Covid-19 pandemic was real."

This is going to be bad Ep. 07

Ebola is getting thrown into a pot of boiling water, Covid is being in a pot where the water is coming to a boil. It looks like most of White America are stupid boiled frogs.
