I don't know what you are reading. Here's a real life example of what CRT means in practice.
Do you know the myth of the "Alamo".
Freedom loving White settlers. Rebel against corrupt, unjust, oppressive Federal Government run by Mexicans. They want FREEDOM and they fight a Noble struggle against massive unfair odds.
They all die heroically and their deaths inspire the valiant Texan army to crush the incompetent Mexicans at the battle of San Jacinto River.
That's what we teach our kids as "history".
It leaves a lot of stuff out. Some of what it leaves out is really important.
So, these Freedom Loving White settlers. They came to Texas for free land from the Mexican Government. In order to get that deal they had to become citizens of Mexico. In order to do that they had to convert to the State religion of Catholicism.
So, by rebelling they betrayed their oaths of allegiance to Mexico and they betrayed the oaths they made with G-d in their conversion. Remember, no one forced them to move to Texas. They did that of their own volition.
So, these "freedom fighters" are liars and traitors from the start. They betrayed the country they had sworn allegiance to. In the US, we would have hanged them all.
But, they were being "oppressed" by unfair laws you might argue. They had to rebel, just the way the Revolutionary's had to rebel against the British.
Yeah, what they rebelled over was the abolition of slavery by the Mexican government.
The Federal Government banned slavery and just like the "Confederates" 50 years later, the Texans rebelled in order to keep their slaves.
The "Freedom" they were fighting for at the Alamo was the 'Freedom" to enslave other human beings. Specifically Black human beings. That's what their 'noble cause' was about.
Now, CRT asks that if you are going to tell the "myth' of the Alamo to kids as indoctrination. Then you should present ALL the facts and tell the WHOLE story. Not just the parts you like and feel good about.
Plus, CRT. Not taught in grade schools or high schools. Right now, only in colleges. Places where we ask kids to open their minds and see the truth behind the myths they were taught.
Are you really in favor of lies and myths instead of facts and truths?
