I disagree with your analysis of homeostasis in Native Cultures. Is 60,000 years of balance with their environment by the Australian Aborigines, not conclusive proof that it can be done.

There are other examples of long persistentence Indigenous cultures that have been very successful over millennial timescales. It's possible to do.

Here's my problem with them. They are basically "static" and "conformist".

Native cultures are generally deeply rich in CULTURE and poor in material artifacts. They don't change much because they are resistant to change.

You are born into a web of CULTURE that completely defines your entire life from birth to death. There are taboos, there are rituals, there are initiation rites. Your life is spelled out for you and you stick to the plan.

It's a perfectly good life. But it's very different from what most of us want. It emphasizes social stability over individual freedom.

My entire life can be described in one sentence: Things didn’t go as planned, and I’m OK with that.
