I cannot tell with satire unless you explicitly say it's satire. I have always had trouble with that. Right now I am finding people harder and harder to relate to as I struggle with my depression.

I am not sure Lani is pulling your leg here. She has gone back and forth on this issue. I reccomended the book "The Wizard and the Prophet" to her.

The debate in the book gets to the heart of where we are now. Also, Lani isn't saying she denies the reality of the Climate Crisis. This is about how we go forward.

What she's describing is a valid option. Call it the "Big Risk, Big Reward" Option. "

A lot of the Techno-Optimists feel this is the way to go. Because what's the alternative?

We "Doomers" talk a lot about the Crisis and how screwed we are. But what's our plan for going forward?

If Climate Realism is going to be a meaningful movement. It needs to lead to a Future where the plan doesn't start with "first there is a 75% dieback episode".

I have thoughts on this but it's a hard sell. That's the problem with Prophets they always want you to sacrifice something.

My entire life can be described in one sentence: Things didn’t go as planned, and I’m OK with that.
