I am also often inspired by Gretta Thunberg.

“You can’t just sit around waiting for hope to come,” Greta Thunberg observed in a speech scolding E.U. politicians.

“Then you’re acting like spoiled, irresponsible children.”

“You don’t seem to understand that hope is something you have to earn.”

Whatever we might want to believe about the future, there are physical limits to how much we can “course correct” at this point. We have been monumentally stupid and let the Fossil Fuel Elites enrich themselves while destroying the planet we live on.

Right now, we are up against the wall and things are going to get worse.

These next few years are our last chance to shape what kind of world our grandchildren of 2100 live in. Right now we are squandering them. In Bomb Time we will only get this one chance before it’s too late.

Bomb Time — The hyper accelerated rate of warming and climate change that will compress 1,000 years of normal inter-glacial warming into the next 20 years of human time as the thermal pulse from our “climate bomb” hits the planet.

I write a column on Climate Change called living in Bomb Time. Why that you might ask?

The news that Greenland had passed “the point of no return” led me to write my first “Living in Bomb Time” column which starts with the joke,

“Quick, what’s the difference between a heat ray hitting the Earth and climate change?”

The joke is that,

“There is no difference, your perception of it depends entirely on your timescale. The effects are the same”.

I thought being a physicist you would appreciate that joke. So few do.

My entire life can be described in one sentence: Things didn’t go as planned, and I’m OK with that.
