I agree in the sense of a Great Depression financial collapse in 3-4 years. That makes a lot of sense.

But, I've studied the Great Depression and how governments dealt with it. Like you say, the container ship has a LOT of inertia.

I think things will limp along in a Depression Era state for at least 3-5 years before we start seeing mass social unrest in the Western nations.
