Great "Blade Runner" quote. A magnificently poignant visual reference for a magnificently poignant set of memories.
Memories of things that are soon to be lost. Vanishing like "tears in rain".
It also echoes the section in Transmetropolitan where Spider talks to the "Resurrected Dead". People from the 20th century who got frozen and are being revived into a world that doesn't care.
Or perhaps the euthanasia scene in "Soylant Green". Where the dying are granted a view of the beauty of the world that was lost.
I actually thought the piece was a free verse poem right up till the very end. With a slight tweak it would be a very good poem. Very powerful in the visuals it triggers.
