Great article, you put a lot of thought into this and it shows. I have a few thoughts on this because I have been thinking about it for years.

I won't do my usual lecture but here are some points to consider.

Nobody ever thinks a war is going to be long or destructive. Everyone always imagines a short decisive conflict with minimal damage.

The best war is one where you win without a battle.

The objective of a civil war is control. Each faction wishes control over the existing machinery of government. To become the state.

If you can achieve this goal without military conflict you have won the civil "war" without a battle being fought.

In the US this could be achieved by rewriting the rules so that one party was guaranteed the Presidency and control of the Senate. As we saw during the Trump years, Congress can be reduced to meaninglessness.

If this rewriting of the rules was done in a legal manner and the Supreme Court ruled it valid then the above scenario would be a legitimate perversion of the US government.

Legitimacy is important.

If your takeover is "legitimate" then the military is sworn to recognize and obey the civilian government. Legitimacy means they have no option other than mutiny if they have issues with that scenario.

Best guess, the military sucks it up and accepts Trumpublican dominance of the country. It will pass, no matter how bad.

A civil war would destroy the country.

Pretty much the way you describe. We would start slagging each other down fast and hard.

Consider, the Revolutionary War was a civil war. The Revolutionaries were only about 30% of the population. The Loyalists were also about 30% of the population.

We went to war with each other and it was savage. In the end over 25% of the population died or fled.

The founding father's went in for "political cleansing" in a big way. We butchered the Loyalists until the rest fled to Canada.

That's why there was no lingering "Pro British" faction after the war. That's why no old "Loyalists" came out for the British in 1812. There were none left.

If we go to war with each other expect high levels of atrocities from the Trumpublican’s.

In order to prevent that, damn straight the military will accept a "legitimate" Trumpublican government. Anything is better than that.

If the military accepts a Trumpublican takeover it will be like the Nazi's taking over Germany. Hitler didn't seize power in a coup. He was elected in a "legitimate" election.

That's when it might be time to get out. Because sure as shit the secret Border Patrol units and ICE units will turn into Gestapo units and people will start going missing.

White people who can be rehabilitated will go off to the camps. POC and bad White people. The "race traitors" like me. We get a bullet in the back of the head in a room in a sports stadium somewhere.

Our bodies loaded on barges and dumped at sea. Missing, disappeared, vanished. And no one asks any questions because people who ask questions tend to vanish.

But what can you do? If the military doesn't fracture. Civil War in a military manner is unlikely.

Underground resistance would be massive and bloody. It would be a very bad time to live through.

Worst case, they botch the takeover and the military fractures. Then we have two real sides going at it ala 1862.

Have you seen the movie "Bushwick"?

No matter who wins, we all lose in that scenario.
