As an old protester in some rough places this may be "overkill" advice. But, it is always good to develop good habits from the start.

Make sure you have a lawyer or law firm on retainer.

Get names and photos of everyone who will be at the protests/events and give that list to your lawyer. So they have it on file.

If someone is "detained" or vanishes after arrest you want a lawyer on the outside who has a record of everyone to take to the press. Documentation can save your life.

Make sure the lawyer has access to a "bail" fund. To get everyone out if there are mass arrests.

If the org doesn't have a legal fund, start one NOW. Get everyone to put in a few bucks everytime they participate in an action. Build up your legal fund.

If you become more than an annoyance you will need it.

Be careful about private communications via phone and electronics. Always assume that Police/National Intel agencies might be listening in. Sensitive matters should always be only FTF with no recordings. Don't leave a paper trail.

Be VERY wary of new zealous recruits. It is very common when groups like this get infiltrated for agents to be inserted to try and provoke you into doing something illegal.

Remember, you can be arrested and thrown in prison, even if nothing happens. Conspiracy is a crime in itself. Just "talking about " doing something can get you prison time in the US.

This is a favored tactic of the FBI here in the US.

If you are going to fight on this level, be smart.

Anyway, be safe and good luck. See you on the other side. :-)
