Americans are not ready to accept that there are going to be "sacrifice zones". Places that we give up on, because they are going to just keep getting hammered.

So much of the wealth of the "Middle Class" is tied up in property. It's been their biggest investment for decades. The best way to build wealth and assets.

Voters are going to categorically reject the idea that their houses have no future and have become worthless. They will engage in denial and talk about "natural variation" in the Climate. Or about "long term Solar Cycles of Cooling". Or whatever other "Denier Crap" they hear on Facebook.

Which is why, as you point out, it is political suicide to tell them the truth. Until that changes, we are going nowhere.
