Ah, seeing your bio I understand. You are a "Libertarian". You have drunk deep from the kool-aid.
I made my money in the Dot.Com days. Providing IT support and Project Management services to startups. I have seen it all.
Including going back to the beginning in the 70's. When I double majored at Berkeley in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
I knew Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. I talked to both of them several times in the 70’s before they were famous. When they were still showing things off at the Homebrew Computer Group.
It was no big deal. Historically I was in the right place at the right time to meet a bunch of people who would go on to be famous or rich.
Watching how their careers and lives played out over the years gave me a lot of insight into the power of narrative. How the most successful carefully controlled the narrative that grew up around them. How they created a mythology of their “greatness”.
Steve Jobs pioneered using evangelical and cultic techniques to explicitly create a “cult of personality” around him. Creating the persona of the Evangelical/Industrialist we see manifest in Elon Musk.
Elon Musk isn’t really an Industrialist. He isn’t the real life version of “Hank Rearden” the Trumpists want him to be.
Elon Musk is a Cult Leader.
BTW. My "hobby degree" is a doctorate in Anthropology.
