A really sobering piece because I had never considered it from this angle. I am still not sure if I completely agree. I think it's not just about money, it's also about capacity.
I'm thinking about in terms of a "war time" completely managed global economy. One where every non-essential good is cut and all efforts are directed, in a coordinated way, to averting catastrophic warming.
Basically one where "money" becomes meaningless because everyone is getting the same rations, quarters, clothes etc. While we work collectively to save the planet and built a truly global culture without borders.
If we could make that kind of leap in collective faith then I still think we could pull this off. Right now we aren't even really trying.
