A really nice piece by someone who has relocated with "Climate Change" as a consideration. I thought this was well written, insightful, and "climate aware".

If you are considering relocation to the upper NE in the US, this is worth reading.

That being said, there are no "safe havens" which the author spells out in the title. Vermont, for all its appeal, has ISSUES. Not all of which are obvious.

Again, Kay zeroed in on the biggest issue and spells it out clearly. Climate Change isn't just about increasing temperatures. That's a "first order" effect.

The "second order" effects are things like MASSIVE rainfalls and flooding. Flooding where flooding never occurred before.

In locations like Vermont, that are mountainous, where people often live in valleys. Those valleys become deathtraps during intense rain events.

This issue is going to get much, much WORSE in the years to come. Ultimately Vermont will warm to about +6°C over baseline during the next 30-40 years (currently about +2°C over baseline).
